Pinecrest Lake is a wonderful recreation area about 20 miles from Twain Harte on Highway 108 where we enjoy swimming and boating. Located at 5,600 feet , it is surrounded by the Stanislaus National Forest. The lake is stocked with fish by the State Fish and Game Department. In the summer months it offers fishing, swimming, hiking trails around the lake, and bicycle trails and rentals. The marina at Pinecrest offers boat rentals.
In the Winter time, they drain the lake. Once the snow falls, it can make for a great place for snow play and cross country skiing. The Dodge Ridge Winter Ski resort is located next to Pinecrest Lake. See a photo gallery of Pinecrest Lake.
